Whom To Blame?
>> 6 May 2009
Lying on the pavement
There is a child crying for food
He is an orphan
But there is no one to help him
And no one feels shame
Then who should we blame?
Walking along with his friends
There is a youth in his mid-20
He earns for his old-aged parents
Suddenly a vehicle rushes over him
And he goes lame
Then who should we blame?
In his office at Writers
There is a politician asking for bribe
Audacious enough and heedless though
That he is on a sting show
Yet he is a personality with fame
Then who should we blame?
Lying on the roadside for several days
There is a dead body
A policeman is standing near-by
Offhanded with his duty, busy on cell phone
And no one ever dares to claim
Then who should we blame?
On the border
There are soldiers fighting for the country
Day and night they escape death
And one day he is shot
He misses the target, his aim
Then who should we blame?
Fighting over a piece of land
Where once stood a monument
There are Hindus and Muslims
Those were politicians who evoked them
And when there is no Gandhi to stop them
Then who should we blame?
Watching a movie
There is a lady in her late-20
Few miscreants enter the house and rape her
The rapists, as usual, escape punishment
And they take it granted for fun and game
Then who should we blame?
Do not be numb now
Say, who do you blame?
There is a child crying for food
He is an orphan
But there is no one to help him
And no one feels shame
Then who should we blame?
